Curriculums

Excelsior University For Children offers the following specialty curriculums:

S.A.I.L. Curriculums

Infant Learning: Infant up to 11 months will receive eye stimulation, texture identification, shape recognition, music, etc. for proper physical and mental development of the children.
Early Learning: For children 12 to 17 months
Toddler Learning: For children 18 months to 2 years
Pre-School: For Children up to 3 years of age
Pre-Kindergarten: For children up to 4 years of age
Kindergarten: For children 5 years of age

Children younger than 3 years old

Our classrooms for children 3 years of age or younger offer block play, dramatic play, reading, quiet time, science, art and manipulatives at various learning centers in the classroom for exploration and problem solving. Your child will be enriched by an abundance of educational toys and equipment such as books, tape recorders, games, filmstrips, etc. Children work and play together in small groups at the learning centers such as: sand and water, blocks, science, math, drama, language, music, art, manipulatives, etc. Circle Time, children enjoy stories, songs, puppet shows, and other group activities.

Children older than 3 years old

In our teaching programs, mature students 3 years of age and older will attend special academic classes by rotating through our specialty classrooms, including:

Mathematics
History and Geography
Social Studies
Visual Arts
Science and Computer
Foreign Languages
Music and Movement
Reading and Literature
Speech and Performing Arts
Library
Tutoring
Physical Education

3Q Excel Courses (optional)

In addition to the aforementioned, Excelsior University For Children offers the unique 3Q Excel courses.

Research done by Dr. K. Lorenz and others indicates that children may have already been 80% "molded" by the time they enter elementary school. Dr. K. Lorenz won the Nobel Prize in Medicine for his enlightening research on these "Critical Periods" for learning.

The "Critical Periods" are certain periods in early ages when children are best suited to learn certain important skills. Different "Critical Periods" exist between 0 to 7 years of age when children can achieve the best results with the least amount of effort.

The "3Q Excel" courses utilize the principles and advantages of the "Critical Periods." The 3Q Excel teaching methods direct and encourage children to learn necessary skills during the "Critical Periods."
